According to IZSF public relations department, this morning Dr. Mohsen Mehralizadeh, the president of the International Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Federation, accompanied by a delegation, met Ashraf Sayed Dahrouj, the technical manager of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) in Baku in order to discuss the condition of Koshti Pahlavani.

At this meeting, Dr. Mehralizadeh stated that Koshti Pahlavani is one of the three fields of Zurkhaneh Sports and asked ISSF authorities to consider the facts regarding this popular sport and restore its original status in the future games.

IZSF president said: “Omission of a sport two months prior to the games is not a professional act and the organizing committee of the games must not be influenced by the outside agents and individuals in his decision-making.”

During the rest of the meeting, Bahram Afsharzadeh, senior advisor in the executive affairs of IZSF, who is also a member of the executive board of ISSF, addressed Ashraf Sayed Dahrouj and said: “Such instantaneous decisions are not becoming of ISSF and can jeopardize the future of a sport and frustrate the athletes, and this is not compatible with the goals of ISSF which is always trying to unify the athletes and countries.”

It is noteworthy that last week, IZSF delegation to Baku held several meetings with some of the members of ISSF and Mr. Hani Ban, the head of the organizing committee of the Islamic Solidarity Games, regarding the latest condition of inclusion of Koshti Pahlavani.
