ABOUT US
According to the public relations report of the International Weightlifting and Wrestling Federation, quoted by Tasnim: Bahram Afsharzadeh said in an interview with Tasnim sports reporter about the activities of the International Weightlifting and Wrestling Federation: This sport started 14 years ago with the efforts of Mehr Alizadeh and his great efforts. At that time, I was the Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee, we wanted to get the approval of several countries by introducing this sport to the Olympic Council of Asia so that we could expand this sport in a better way and be able to officially participate in the Asian Games and get the approval of the Olympic Council. Let's have Asia as well. As the founder of this federation, Mr. Mehr Alizadeh made many efforts and fortunately, with the emphasis of the Supreme Leader and the pursuit of Mehr Alizadeh, this sport became widespread and the wrestling movement from Iran spread to other countries.
He emphasized: Now 85 countries are members of the World Wrestling and Wrestling Federation. There is a direct relationship with many of these 85 countries and they carry out coercive activities. Mr. Mehr Alizadeh has spent a lot of time in the Zorkhaneh sports federation in these few years, and many efforts have been made to find this suitable position for this federation. If it wasn't for their support, this sport would definitely be in trouble.
The former secretary general of the National Olympic Committee added: Now this world federation has a codified statute, various committees in it. has been formed and is busy training different countries in this field. Of course, we need time to further expand this sport, the first official appearance of this wrestling sport took place in the competitions of Islamic countries, and the countries that had not participated in the Islamic Games directly appeared in these games and introduced this sport. They saw and touched closely. Rest assured, if it was not for Mehr Alizadeh's follow-up, this work would not have been done.
Afsharzadeh added: "When volleyball came to Iran, we had one net, one ball, and one size of the field, but in Zorkhaneh sport, It's not that easy. You must have a mentor who has a good voice, who is familiar with the culture of this sport, and who wants to have a desire to have a separate federation for themselves. Countries cannot prepare this, and the International Federation of Powerlifting and Wrestling also prepares and sends these supplies to countries. The same work requires a lot of expenses that must be done for the expansion of this sport.
Afsharzadeh said: With the knowledge I have of my country and Iranian culture, I believe that this discipline can expand and with the emphasis of the Supreme Leader and Mehr Alizadeh's all-round support, we will witness more expansion and success in the future, and in the near future, more countries in the world will become members of the World Power Sports Federation.
He pointed out: planning to hold overseas competitions, training foreign athletes and coaches, and expanding the sport of Iran in the world, requires all-round support from institutions. and I hope that the country's sports officials will help Mehr Alizadeh so that he can continue his brilliant performance in these years and can expand the name of Iran in other fields and countries.
